Spreader (Speciality)

£14.00

Handcrafted by a bearded chap using an axe, knives and other human powered tools. These spreaders were carved from various woods, each carved specifically into these forms in order to maximise the beauty of the grain and colour of the wood. It is finished with food grade linseed (flaxseed) oil.

A simple, yet intuitively beautiful tool, which is ideal for applying the butter, jam, etc. to your morning toast.

From left to right:

1 - Spalted Sycamore / 2 - Plum (?) / 3 - Cherry

Please note that I do not use power tools or sanding tools/methods to finish my hand carved products. My process also embraces the natural character and qualities of the material being worked, following the organic and inherent contours of the grain and characteristics of each piece of wood. Therefore, you should expect a form that expresses and embraces the beauty of each individual piece of wood, along with some tool marks which celebrate the authentically hand crafted process of each piece.
